Scott Cummings - President Who Am I: I'm blessed to be married to Carrie, and blessed with three terrific kids, Jake, Ben, & Caroline. I'm so excited to be here at Peace for Pearland! I can see great things happening here! I'm thrilled to be part of such a vibrant, dynamic, committed, faithful bunch of friends committed to serving a burgeoning arts community in Pearland. Where I'm from: I came to Pearland in 2010 from Conroe, where I served as an Associate Pastor. I graduated from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary in 2002. I was born and raised in Houston and went to college and seminary in Austin. I spent many summers at Camp Cho-Yeh in Livingston,Texas, both as a camper growing up, and as a counselor and administrator. My wife, Carrie, grew up in Austin and we met in college at the University of Texas at Austin, where I earned a B.A. degree in psychology. Favorites: Food: My homemade fajitas, my wife's cakeballs, mint chocolate brownies with Bluebell Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream, street tacos at Emma's MexMex, and the chicken nachos at Killen's TMX. Where I see Peace for Pearland being a blessing in our community: Peace for Pearland was founded to create partnerships that will bless the overall art community in Pearland and beyond. We've already seen partnerships forming that will bring fruit in the arts community, such as the Second Saturdays for the Arts events held in conjunction with Peace Church, and the arts groups joining in events in the park like the huge Community Easter Egg Hunt held in 2019 at Southdown Park. Local arts groups have partnered in our golf tournament in 2019 as well and the art show was a big hit! The golf tournament benefited the Foundation for Creative Leadership arts nonprofit and we've also benefited the newly formed Pearland Chamber Orchestra in their inaugural concert in December 2019. These partnership have served to further the goals of enhancing the arts community in Pearland in mutual cooperation and will continue to do so in the future!

Natascha Gotesky - At Large Board Member Who Am I: I am a wife to my wonderful husband for 20 years, mother to my beautiful daughter, who is a gift from God, and I am blessed to be a creative educator, working with children in early childhood, elementary, middle and high school! Having a profound passion for both Children and Art, I commend the importance of artistic expression and creative education beginning in early childhood. Creativity is both my Passion and Purpose! This has enabled me to establish a business and a lifestyle with the sole purpose of INSPIRING THE CREATIVE DEVELOPMENT OF THE WHOLE CHILD! Over the past two decades my company has developed and implemented highly acclaimed, dynamic, and interactive ART and STEAM instruction in art classes, camps and workshops, specifically designed to meet the needs of children and their educators. Our philosophy pays particular attention to the ever-changing facets and influences of society and our environment. For this reason, we embrace community outreach programs to empower children to help people (including first responders and the elderly), to support wildlife and pet rescue programs, to educate children about real environmental issues like the plight of honey bees…and so much more! Where I'm from: I am originally from South Africa, where I was born and raised. My love for children, animals and art began as a young child and has inspirited my life over the years, translating my work into His purpose for my life! Pearland has been our home for the past fourteen years, and the community in which we have raised our daughter and hopefully inspired many children! My bachelor’s degrees in both Child Development and in English, coupled with a Child Development Associates Credential, have enabled me to work in multiple settings with children and their educators to ensure that creative art instruction is developmentally appropriate and stimulating. Favorites: Where I see Peace for Pearland being a blessing in our community: Peace for Pearland promotes community outreach programs via the Arts, which is in line with our mission at Art Camp. The more children we can reach through the arts, the more we can cultivate their love for themselves, their family, our community and the world around them! Together, we can inspire learning of Art Techniques, enhance Brain Development, promote Confidence, implement Interdisciplinary Learning, encourage Problem-Solving Skills, and enhance Social Interaction. The Arts are simply enjoyable! Creating fun, whimsical art can inspire a giggle or two, reminding us of how beautiful, enjoyable, and simple life can be! Why is creativity so important, you may ask? Inspiring the creative development of each child is paramount, as being creative helps one become a better problem solver in all areas of life. Creativity helps one see things differently and better deal with uncertainty. Studies show that creative people are better able to adapt their thinking to allow for the flow of the unknown, thereby making them more successful in life! Peace for Pearland is a blessing to our community and to our children!
